Royal Pain (Sweetwater Creek #1) by Danielle Doolittle (*)

Falling in love can be a royal pain.

A cocktail of sex, booze and breakneck speeds is what sends Prince Henry of Benignus into rehab. He’s expecting to skip out on lectures and smoke behind the shed.
He’s not expecting Carleigh.

Carleigh Phillips knows Henry is trouble. His bad boy attitude reeks of self-importance and over-indulgence. She’s not expecting him to lift a royal finger during his time at the ranch.
She’s not expecting him to be a threat to her heart.

When Carleigh’s life is on the line, will Prince Henry step up to the plate? Or will he prove he really is nothing but a phony royal pain?

Review
This was a good read, i was sent it for review and i have spent the last two days finishing it off, its only a short book at just over a 100 pages, a novella if you will so it was just the right length for me at the moment. We meet Prince Henry after another night out boozing and not knowing where is his leads to his court appearance, and despite been royal he is carted off to rehab. Carleigh is a true country girl at heart and is recovering from another bad boy type breaking her heart when Henry steps on to the ranch and all too soon she is convincing herself he is bad news.

This is a well paced quick read that kept me turning the pages to see how the romance would progress for the pair, with a few obstacles thrown in the way for good measure it really is a battle for the pair. The romance that attempts to blossom holds promise of a true, sweet romance with a bit of naughty thrown in for good measure.

The characters we meet along the way all hold substance and i was particularly fond of this, we got to know a bit about each one we meet. For such a short read this was impressive. Danielles writing style is perfect for this sort of book, and i am very much looking forward to seeing where abouts book 2 of sweetwater creek takes us.
