#sunathon tbr

So having just finished the booktube-a-thon I'm delving into another readathon this time it feels more relaxed and I'm very much looking forward to reading the following during the #sunathon

Fiery French chef Élise Philippe is having a seriously bad day. Not only have the opening day plans for her beloved café fallen apart, but Sean O'Neil is back in town, and looking more delectable than ever. Last summer, they shared an electrifying night together…and the memories have Élise really struggling to stick to her one-night-only rule! Her head knows that eventually Sean will be leaving, so all she can do is try to ignore her heart before she spontaneously combusts with lust.

Being back in Vermont—even temporarily—is surgeon Sean O'Neil's worst nightmare. For Sean, returning home to the Snow Crystal Resort means being forced to confront the reasons and the guilt he feels about rejecting his family's rural lifestyle years ago. But discovering that Élise has settled in Vermont and still sets his blood racing is a very welcome distraction! Thinking he can persuade her into a replay of last summer is tempting, but remembering how good they are together is going to make walking away more difficult than he could imagine…

Veteran social worker Ellen Moore has seen the worst side of humanity; the vilest acts one person can commit against another. She is a fiercely dedicated children's advocate and a devoted mother and wife. But one blistering summer day, a simple moment of distraction will have repercussions that Ellen could never have imagined, threatening to shatter everything she holds dear, and trapping her between the gears of the system she works for.

Meanwhile, ten-year-old Jenny Briard has been living with her well-meaning but irresponsible father since her mother left them, sleeping on friends' couches and moving in and out of cheap motels. When Jenny suddenly finds herself on her own, she is forced to survive with nothing but a few dollars and her street smarts. The last thing she wants is a social worker, but when Ellen's and Jenny's lives collide, little do they know just how much they can help one another.

With sparks beginning to fly, will Sean be able to resist delicious temptation?

One night: promised - Jodi Ellen Malpas review

Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He's heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she's almost too distracted to take his order. When he walks out the door, she thinks she'll never see him again. Then she finds the note he left on his napkin . . . signed M.

All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. Every defense mechanism Livy has adopted during her solitary life is at risk of being obliterated by this confounding man. He's obnoxious but well-mannered. He's a gentleman but aloof. He's passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can't deny him... or herself.

M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed -- and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he's aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she'll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession - an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair..

Releases 7/17 in UK and 8/5 in US.

Review
Livy wants nothing to do with any man not after her mothers past. She's quite happy learning her new job at the bistro and making friends with the coffee matchine. In steps m, and all that goes out the window. The man is arrangont and everything she should avoid but the pull between the pair is too strong and well boy is it hot.

All m can offer is one night and after much debating , Livy is determined to take it if that's All she can get. Throw in some over protective business partners and well anger is an understatement . M is elusive , vague, commitment phone and swoon worthy. He is addiment he doesn't do commitment yet he finds himself having lunch with Livy and her nan.

This book hooked me from page one till the very end. Malpas has created my one true love with m, he knocks Jesse out the water , I'm so great full that I got to read this early because it was bloody fantastic

I'm taking part in booktube-a-thon

Hi all!
I'm popping in with a quick post today, this week for the first time I am taking part in booktube-a-thon so here are my choices;

A book with pictures/book to movie adaptation

Matilda - I own a beautiful edition full of lovely pictures and it's one of my favourite films so what better choice for the start.

A book with red on the cover/the genre you have read least

Sean of the dead graphic novel - this is a lovely red covered book and I have never read a graphic novel so I thought I would give it a go and delve in.

A book someone else picked for you

Dr who and the ice warriors- I've never read any doctor who, and since it's a short book I thought I would give it a good go!

Additional books to read

I want to finish fangirl by rainbow Rowell, I'm over half way through and I would love to finish this soon, I want to start how to build a girl by catlin Moran after seeing leenas interview with her , I'm slightly in love and lastly I want to finish one night promised by jodi Ellen malpas.

Wish me luck !

Third sentence Thursday

Grab your read, turn to any page and pick the third sentence; hosted by thatswhatsheread.com.au

From the author of the New York Timesbestseller Eleanor & Park.

A coming-of-age tale of fan fiction, family and first love.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan.

Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan...

But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.

Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?

Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?

And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

"Touching and utterly real." — Publisher's Weekly

"They sat next to each other when they worked - the better to read, and write, during the others turns"

That's my quote, and I am madly in love with this book, by far my favourite Rowell book, and I loved landline xxx

A part of me - Anouska Knight (proof copy review)

Amy and long-term partner James have finally been accepted into the adoption process. Then out of nowhere a dark secret changes everything. Will Amy follow her heart and let the thing she wants most in her life slip away from her, or follow that dream, but lie to her heart?

Review

Amy and James have finally been accepted into the adoptation process. It's like all their dreams have come true. We'll Amy's at least. One girly night put of celebration leads to disaster. Seeking shelter in the office they find out who the night shagger is.

Devastated Amy must try and carry on, taking on a huge new work project seems good until she meets who she is working for, Rohan Bywater , frustrating and a prankster. She tries to out price him and accidentally leaves a lovely insult at the end of the email. So Amy tried to balance this an fixing things with James especially as he breaks the news that their social worker wants to meet them.

But things are not as simple as they appear, with both men. Amy is a likeable character all she wants is to be loved and gve a family, but who will give her that or shall she give up on her dream?

This book for me was quite a slow start with several characters to remember , once I got past that I found myself flying through a good chunk of the book. For me it's a good read, gripping, emotive and just good, and honestly all I wanted was what was best for Amy.

Top ten Tuesday

Top Ten Blogging Confessions
hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
1. I rarely schedual - okay I admit I went through a phase of sitting on a Sunday and planning until Friday but that's all out the window and now with no laptop blogging is proving interesting.
2. I'm really bad at replying to emails - another fault , I have so many emails sat in my inbox to answer and plenty more to chase up, yet I just think I'll do it later.
3. Working all the time and reading gives me a slump- I find when I work most days and finish at half five the last thing I want to do is read all evening, how strange
4. I have left several books for fear of finishing them - yep, the moments book?? One night promised, I was lucky enough to obtain an earc, I just can't bring myself to finish it because I know the wait will be too much (note I fear in going to give in!)
5. I buy more than I read - all this hype on books, I have to buy them then they sit unread, I'm looking at you birthday haul..sat silently on my bookcase.
That's all my confessions - well that I can think of, I'm sure there is plenty of faults with my blogging but hey - I'm trying 💜

What I am reading

Firstly, apologies for my lack of format due to having no laptop I'm giving blogging on my phone a go, so on with what I am reading;

Audiobook
How to be a woman - Caitlin Moran
Though they have the vote and the Pill and haven't been burned as witches since 1727, life isn't exactly a stroll down the catwalk for modern women. They are beset by uncertainties and questions: Why are they supposed to get Brazilians? Why do bras hurt? Why the incessant talk about babies? And do men secretly hate them?

Caitlin Moran interweaves provocative observations on women's lives with laugh-out-loud funny scenes from her own, from the riot of adolescence to her development as a writer, wife, and mother. With rapier wit, Moran slices right to the truth—whether it's about the workplace, strip clubs, love, fat, abortion, popular entertainment, or children—to jump-start a new conversation about feminism. With humor, insight, and verve, How To Be a Woman lays bare the reasons female rights and empowerment are essential issues not only for women today but also for society itself.
