Harriet is a geek, an out and out geek - full to the brim of useless facts (well i suppose at some point they are useful) and struggles daily with school, and its alot harder when you only have one friend (and a stalker) Nat, is in most senses the polar opposite of Harriet, so they take it in turns doing something the other enjoys. So when Nat's other friend falls ill on the day of the clothes show, Harriet has to step in.

Harriet and the clothes show? Not a good combination, after an eventful coach trip, upon arrival, she trashes several stalls, gets threatened to be sued, and hides under a table. Things surely couldnt get worse? She gets spotted, by a model agency. Something she can't tell Nat, not when it was Nats dream all along.

Geek girl is heartwarming, funny and perfect for teens. Its a reminder its not all bad, it does get better. I loved Harriet, she made me laugh, she made me recognise myself a bit (not the model part - haha!) Nat was sweet, with good intentions with a huge temper. Geek girl was a coming of age story in parts, it was about friendship, been yourself, and a love story all wrapped up in a novel.

It was fast paced and alot happened in the short space of time we met Harriet, but im guessing the modelling world travels at the same speed. If you are a fan of teen and y/a fiction this could be up your street.
