♥ Second Life - S J Watson ♥

The sensational new psychological thriller from the bestselling author of Before I Go To Sleep.

She loves her husband. She's obsessed by a stranger.

She's a devoted mother. She's prepared to lose everything.

She knows what she's doing. She's out of control.

She's innocent. She's guilty as sin.

She's living two lives. She might lose both . .

I had no ideas what this book was about going into it, its all kept vauge on the synopsis. I was listening to a radio 4 podcast with an interview with S J Watson, (who knew he was male, i was convinced Watson was female) anyway, he was discussing the book, and i had it already but it swayed me to get stuck in.

This book is nothing you expect, it was fantastic, gripping and thrilling, and as much as i love Before I Go To Sleep, this was stepping up the game to a whole new level.  Julia is a respectable woman, a good life - a family and a professional husband. When she arrives home one day to the news that  her sister has been murdered, its a shock to all the family.

At its heart this is a story about grief , not more than that its about obsession and addiction. When Julia learns that her sister was using chatrooms to look for flings, she decides thats the way to find the killer- because, what are the police doing? Signing up intially into her sisters account she spots a few names that could be the one. However, she opts for her own account.

One things leads to another, and well friendly chats never stay just that in a chat room do they? They always tend to turn sexual, and Julia likes the feeling, of someone wanting her. The relationship between the pair evolves into something more - something she was avoiding, but do we really know who people are?

Its about the realities of online, it's about not always been ourselves, its full of twists and turns and nothing is as it seems. Its a brilliant read and one for those who love a good thriller.
