The Wife Between Us - Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen || Review

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.

You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.

You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love. Read between the lies.

Review

My mum was the one who suggested this read to me, she kept seeing it on facebook and eventually gave in and bought it then spent the next 3 weeks asking me if i had read it yet. So with something like that i knew i really should cast aside my other reading plans to focus on this.

The wife between us is a thriller where nothing can be assumed. Im reading along thinking yeah ive got this, bam here is a twist, okay i get it now...nope here is another. That was the case for the whole book. It is hard to review something where you dont really to give too much away because its the best way to read it.

At face value it looks like a woman who is obsessed with the woman who replaced her after her husband left her, after she couldnt get pregnant. However the wife between us is so much more than that. Nothing is to be taken at face vaule and thats why i enjoyed it.

I was left with questions at the end, and i couldnt wait to finish it so i could discuss it with my mum - questions i want to ask and rant about in my review, but i cant - because i wont spoil this. Honestly an unexpected thriller that really did tick alot of the boxes.

Author Info

Greer Hendricks spent over two decades as an editor. Her writing has been published in The New York Times and Publishers Weekly. The Wife Between Us is her first novel.

Sarah is the mother of three young boys, which explains why she writes part of her novels at Chuck E. Cheese. Sarah penned her first book, Miscellaneous Tales and Poems, at the age of 10. When publishers failed to jump upon this literary masterpiece (hey, all the poems rhymed!) Sarah followed up by sending them a sternly-worded letter on Raggedy Ann stationery. Sarah still has that letter, and carries it to New York every time she has meetings with her publisher, as a reminder that dreams do come true.
