The trouble with Heartache

Nina Spencer swore she was done with Heartache, Tennessee, when she left the town—and her sexy ex, Mack—in her rearview mirror. But when her bakery business is rocked by scandal, she needs a place to regroup. What she doesn't need is Mack Finley reminding her of peach-flavored kisses and the hold he still has on her.

Mack never forgot Nina—not that he didn't try. Yet between caring for his family and organizing the annual Harvest Fest, he's overwhelmed and he needs Nina's help. They can work together without getting swept up in memories and the rush of brand-new passion…right?

We all know, that i love Joanne Rock, so of course i knew this was going to be a pretty good read, because i am yet to find one that i didn't like. Promises under the peach tree is a sweet novel that at its heart is all about first love. Nina left heartache in a state of distress one night after a horrible incident, presuming Mack would come with her and they could start a new life together, so when he stays - Nina faces the future alone.

When Ninas business is destroyed by her partner she fleas home, not only for time to clear her head but her gran is needing more and more help around the town. What she didnt bank on was Mack been here, so when he needs help with the harvest festival the pair are thrown back together and set about working on becoming friends.

Throw in some serious family issues, Scott (macks brother) marriage is falling apart, their daughter isnt coping well and is facing some deeper issues alone as well as mooning after a boy. Mack is trying to releave the stress of Scotts shoulders a little bit and trying to look after their mum however all he can focus on is the fact Nina is back.

As the pair focus on their friendship its appearent there is still more to them, sometimes your first love is your only love, the memories of the spending time aongst the peach trees and the fact the pair have grown up make for some sweet loving reunions. Joanne writes in a way that is both sexy and sweet - you feel the connection between the pair, its real and its honest, there is fights and makeups.

Joannes descrption has always been some of the best i have read and i could almost smell the peaches from the pages of the book, the baking, the food. I was captivated and awestruck. I lost myself in the town of heartache and i cannot wait to return especially after seeing the cover for nights under the Tennessee stars on facebook

  1. I love this book! The second book is also pretty good. I like how the author made this town come alive. And there's just something fun about a small town setting. And the romance was so well done and I liked how it was both hot and sweet! Great review!
