The Honeymoon - Tina Seskis || Netgalley Review

There's trouble in paradise. . .

For as long as she can remember, Jemma has been planning the perfect honeymoon. A fortnight's retreat to a five-star resort in the Maldives, complete with luxury villas, personal butlers and absolute privacy. It should be paradise, but it's turned into a nightmare.

Because the man Jemma married a week ago has just disappeared from the island without a trace. And now her perfect new life is vanishing just as quickly before her eyes. After everything they've been through together, how can this be happening? Is there anyone on the island who Jemma can trust? And above all - where has her husband gone?

Review

Where do i even begin to start with this? It was super hyped and i knew it was a thriller that would lead the reader all over the place. Jemma has been planning the perfect honeymoon after her perfect wedding. It is a place filled with luxury and they should be having the time of their lives  but alas that is not the case.

Jemma wakes up in a haze after a booze fuelled evening and her husband is gone - not just out exploring but gone gone, and she doesn't know where he is or what to do. After everything the couple have worked through - how can he leave her alone?

Jemma begins to panic and it is about time she reports his disappearance but what can she really remember about that night? Can she even trust anyone on the island?

The Honeymoon is a dark web of secrets and tells the narrative from before the wedding, during and the honeymoon so we learn about the characters across these periods of time. What follows is a gripping tale that left me feeling that i couldn't trust anyone, especially the narrative - it just didnt feel right, but nope, throw in a few more twists and turns and you wont even stand a chance of working out what an earth has happened!

I finished this book in a state of shock and relief, relief that i got an answer but shocked at what it was.
This was one of the most unpredictable thrillers i have read and i would recommend it through anf through. Whilst i feel this review doesnt do it justice but i dont want to give anything away because honestly - it would ruin it. JUST READ IT
