Review

I love a typical beach read, with love romance & delicious sounding food. When the chance to join the blog tour for this came up, I knew I would enjoy it.

When Sophia comes home from work one day and discovers her boyfriend in bed with another women - it could trigger all her teenage issues and bring them back to the surface, instead though - she realises the life she has isn't what she wanted - and it's going nowhere. A major case of all work & no play.

Sophia decides to leave her job & spend the summer in Italy with her grandmother whilst she plans her next move, a break for a while so when she literally bumps into Joe at the airport - her summer plans change drastically.

Both holding family secrets and an agreement for just a summer fling will this end in heartache?
Love at the Italian Lake is a sumptuous read, it's full of all the good things in life. It had me craving coffee & pastries as I watched the sun rise, or a lot of pasta washed down with a large glass of red. These things make a book for me. If it leaves me wanting to experience what is going on in the pages then its worked its wonders.

Sophia comes from a warm loving Italian family, and I am so glad she took the time to visit her grandmother and be true to her roots and embrace her self. Self-love and all that.  From the minute we meet Joe he made me laugh, there is a vibe to him that is just lovely.

In short, Love At The Italian Lake is a wonderful read that had me planning my trip to Italy to experience all these things. The characters were warm and loving with a true sense of family values. There was enough drama to move the narrative along without being too heavy. All in all - A fantastic summer read.

Author Info

Darcie Boleyn has a huge heart and is a real softy. She never fails to cry at books and movies, whether the ending is happy or not. Darcie is in possession of an overactive imagination that often keeps her awake at night. Her childhood dream was to become a Jedi but she hasn’t yet found suitable transport to take her to a galaxy far, far away. She also has reservations about how she’d look in a gold bikini, as she rather enjoys red wine, cheese and loves anything with ginger or cherries in it – especially chocolate. Darcie fell in love in New York, got married in the snow, rescues uncoordinated greyhounds and can usually be found reading or typing away on her laptop.
