Things Can Only Get Better - David M. Barnett || Blog Tour

*FROM THE INTERNATIONALLY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF CALLING MAJOR TOM*

For elderly churchwarden Arthur Calderbank, there's no place like home. His home just so happens to be a graveyard. He keeps himself to himself, gets on with his job, and visits his wife everyday for a chat. When one day he finds someone else has been to see his wife - and has left flowers on her grave - he is determined to solve the mystery of who and why. He receives unlikely help from a group of teenage girls as he tries to solve the mystery, and soon learns that there is more to life than his little graveyard. Set during the 1990s,

Things Can Only Get Better is an uplifting story about the power of a little kindness, friendship and community for readers who enjoy Sue Townsend Ruth Hogan and Joanna Cannon.

Review
Things can only get better is an uplifting story of how life can only get better. Arthur lives in the chapel in the cemetery, he lives there so he can be close to Molly, thats all he wants since Molly passed away.

However ever year on her birthday someone is putting flowers on her grave and its not Arthur, and he wants to know who - and why they are doing it in the middle of the night.

We also meet a gang of children - Kelly, Gemma, Nicola & Timmy who are an unlikely bunch struggling through school each with their own reputation. When the newly formed gang of friends end up in the cemetery - they offer to help Arthur solve his mystery.

This book was heart warming, at times i wanted to weep (Arthur just made me want to cry) other times my heart felt so full with love for him. The gang of kids we meet were such an endearing bunch and i loved watching all their relationships grow as they navigated the tricky teen years.

It really was uplifting and a story about kindness, friendship & family. Not only that but standing up for your beliefs and supporting each other. I really really enjoyed this. It really is a story of how things can only get better
