Her ex-boyfriend Declan promises to be there for her but Sadie worries that getting too close is a mistake – especially as he has a new girlfriend now. And anyway she’s just met newcomer Luke, with his gorgeous suntan and mellow voice…

Sadie’s family have always loved Declan and they’re not too sure about Luke, leaving Sadie unsure which way to turn. A terrible accident at sea forces her to look into her heart, but what if it’s already too late to tell the right man that she loves him?

If you love stolen kisses under the pier, walking along spray-capped shores eating ice cream, and books by Lucy Diamond, Jill Mansell and Jenny Colgan, you will fall in love with this romantic, heart-breaking read.

I love a seaside book and i remember requesting this because the title alone is a bit of me all over. I also remember starting this then leaving it. Yet i am glad i picked this up and gave it a second chance. Steeped in seaside feels, family and yummy food on the side this really is a story of relationships and family. 

When Sadies Grampy dies, the familys long held waffle house is shut - with no one to step up it looks like it will remain that way, Sadie is very much against that. Especially as the teaching course she has started is really proving that this isnt something she wants to do long term.  Against all her familys advice she reopens the waffle house throwing caution to the wind. Yet she pretty soon realises her Grampy had been hiding alot from them and as reality kicks in is this something she can actually do?

I loved this, once i got my head round the fact it was less waffle house more character driven - i thought that the waffle house would be the focus and whilst it was it was deeper and bigger than that and i think that was why i enjoyed it so much in the end. The characters, the relationships they had together and how the family all supported each other at the heart of it all, despite fights differences and much more (including a very very near death experience)

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing, graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world gets them.
