A Christmas Gift - Sue Moorcroft || Blog Tour

Can the happiest time of year heal the most broken of hearts?

Georgine loves Christmas. The festive season always brings the little village of Middledip to life. But since her ex-boyfriend walked out, leaving her with crippling debts, Georgine’s struggled to make ends meet.

To keep her mind off her worries, she throws herself into organising the Christmas show at the local school. And when handsome Joe Blackthorn becomes her assistant, Georgine’s grateful for the help. But there’s something about Joe she can’t quite put her finger on. Could there be more to him than meets the eye?

Georgine’s past is going to catch up with her in ways she never expected. But can the help of friends old and new make this a Christmas to remember after all?

Firstly i am so excited to be back on a blog tour its been the longest time but what better one to start back with than this one, and my first festive read of the year. So thankyou for my ARC in exchange for this review.

I'll start with the facts, i am a huge Sue Moorcroft fan so this instantly felt like a comfort read for me. We are introduced to Georgine, probably not in the nicest of ways as she feels the baliffs shouting at her door (through no fault of hers other than trusting someone may i add) but it gives a glimpse instantly into her complex home life. To make her life a little brighter she is throwing herself her work and organising the christmas show at the school she works at. A favourite past time of hers.

She is greeted by a new assistant whom is to shadow her everywhere Joe Blackthorn, and there is something about him - however talking to him is like getting blood out of a stone so she isn't really sure how its going to work especially as he cant be left unsupported until his DBS arrives. When the past eventually starts to catch up with Georgine, life starts to throw a few unexpected things at her and there really is more to Joe than she ever thought possible.

Sue always writes with such depth to her characters, and that is what i adore, there is always something much deeper than that initial surface level, there is more to the story and often morals and beliefs are at play. I love the complexities to the characters, the flaws and realisitic reflections of life, that everything really isnt as it seems. Sue writes honest, sometimes brutal but brilliant characters and plots.  I loved spending the festive season with Georgine and i really hope you all do too.
