February Book Haul

Another month over, and i picked up a few more books to get on with. So with the first week in March over with it's time to share what i picked up, what im looking forward to reading and hopefully what will be fab!

The Guilty Party
On a night out, four friends witness a stranger in trouble. They decide to do nothing to help.
Later, a body washes up on the banks of the Thames – and the group realises that ignoring the woman has left blood on their hands.
But why did each of them refuse to step in? Why did none of them want to be noticed that night? Who is really responsible?
And is it possible that the victim was not really a stranger at all?

Ive seen this doing the rounds and decided this sounds like something i would really really enjoy. It sounds like alot of questions need answering based on the synopsis  without giving all too much away. This was from Netgalley and hopefully ill get to it this month.

Suddenly Single - Carol Wyer

When bestselling romance author Chloe Piper’s marriage implodes a week before Christmas, she flies her cheating ex and the village gossips for the solitude of the newly built Sunny Meadow Farm and the company of her hapless dog, Ronnie.

But Chloe is soon pushed out of her comfort zone. Because with a lively development building crew - headed up by charming Alex - and a larger-than-life neighbour determined to make Chloe’s love life her pet project, Chloe finds herself a whole new world of chaos...

I am a big fan of Carol Wyer and have loved her crime reads so when i spotted she had branched out into a more chick lit read i was beyond excited! Obviously i was going to read this, again this came from Netgalley. Also i am kind of in love with this cover.

The Dare - Carol Wyer
Jane’s daughter is a good girl. What is she hiding?

When thirteen-year-old Savannah Hopkins doesn’t come straight home from school, as she always does, her mother Jane immediately raises the alarm.

Leading the investigation is Detective Natalie Ward whose daughter Leigh is the same age as Savannah. Soon Natalie’s worst fears are confirmed when the teenager’s broken body is found in nearby shrubland.

Evidence points towards a local recluse, but just as the net is closing around him, one of Savannah’s friends, Harriet, is reported missing.

As Natalie delves into the lives of both girls, she soon discovers a sinister video on their phones, daring the girls to disappear from their families for 48 hours.

But Natalie isn’t quick enough for this killer, and she is devastated to find Harriet’s body on a fly tip a day later.

Caught up in the case, she takes her eye off her own daughter and when Leigh goes missing after school she knows she must be in terrible danger. The clock is ticking for Natalie. Can she catch this killer before her little girl becomes the next victim?

Like i mentioned, i adore this series and Detective Natalie Ward is a fab read, i have been lucky enough to review the previous 2 in the series and when i wished for this on Netgalley and got granted i might of done a cheer! I think this month will be a Carol Wyer binge!

After The End - Clare Mackintosh

From New York Times bestselling author Clare Mackintosh, a deeply moving and page-turning novel about an impossible choice—and the two paths fate could take.

Max and Pip are the strongest couple you know. They’re best friends, lovers, unshakable. But then their son gets sick and the doctors put the question of his survival into their hands. For the first time, Max and Pip can’t agree. They each want a different future for their son.

What if they could have both?

A gripping and propulsive exploration of love, marriage, parenthood, and the road not taken, After the End brings one unforgettable family from unimaginable loss to a surprising, satisfying, and redemptive ending and the life they are fated to find. With the emotional power of Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper, Mackintosh helps us to see that sometimes the end is just another beginning.

Having read previous Clare Mackintosh books this is completely different  to her other reads and again, i am beyond excited to give this a go. I am excited for the cover to be revealed too. This sounds like its gonna kick me right in the feels!

Her Wild Ride - Heather Van Fleet

I’m not a hero. I’m a bad dude who’s done bad things. And the sooner she understands that, the better off we’ll be.

I’ve just got out of prison and I’m running from my MC, so my step-sister’s best friend has agreed to drive me across the country.

Summer’s my ride. That’s all. But she captivates me, and I don’t have a damn clue why. She’s a distraction I can’t afford.

Is it because I’ve been told she’s forbidden?

Is it because she’s preppy and freakin’ beautiful, so not a part of my world?

With every mile of our trip, every spark of connection, she seems to inch closer to me. The temptation is too much to resist.

But she has no idea just how dangerous life would be with me. I broke club rules. I betrayed my brothers to save a woman’s life. If the Red Dragons find us we’ll be in trouble. And if I give into my desires, she’ll be in deeper than she realises…

When i spied this cover on Twitter, i knew i had to read this because look at it! its ureal and wow, its been a while since i read a biker romance! so i guess its time i delved into another

A Perfect Cornish Summer - Phillipa Ashley

The first in a gorgeous new series from the author of Summer at the Cornish Cafe.
Summer is on the horizon, and the people of Porthmellow are eagerly awaiting the annual food festival. At least, most of them are…
For Sam Lovell, organising the summer festival in her hometown is one of the highlights of her year. It’s not always smooth sailing, but she loves to see Porthmellow’s harbour packed with happy visitors, and being on the committee has provided a much-needed distraction from the drama in her family life (and the distinct lack of it in her love life).
When their star guest pulls out with only a few weeks to go, everyone’s delighted when a London chef who grew up locally steps in at the last minute. But Gabe Matthias is the last person Sam was expecting to see, and his return to Porthmellow will change her quiet coastal life for ever.
Curl up with this gorgeous novel and savour the world of Porthmellow Harbour.

Hello, i am obsessed with little harbour town reads and oh my god, my not so secret wish is to write a book and move to cornwall and guess what - this is going to let me live out some fantasy's whilst i read so this is going to tick all the boxes.

One Summer In Paris
To celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, Grace has planned the surprise of a lifetime for her husband—a romantic getaway to Paris. But she never expected he’d have a surprise of his own: he wants a divorce. Reeling from the shock but refusing to be broken, a devastated Grace makes the bold decision to go to Paris alone.

Audrey, a young woman from London, has left behind a heartache of her own when she arrives in Paris. A job in a bookshop is her ticket to freedom, but with no money and no knowledge of the French language, suddenly a summer spent wandering the cobbled streets alone seems much more likely…until she meets Grace, and everything changes.

Grace can’t believe how daring Audrey is. Audrey can’t believe how cautious newly single Grace is. Living in neighboring apartments above the bookshop, this unlikely pair offer each other just what they’ve both been missing. They came to Paris to find themselves, but finding this unbreakable friendship might be the best thing that’s ever happened to them…

We all know i love love love Sarah Morgan as she is one of my fave authors so a new book based in Paris? Obviously i was all over that!

So what has everyone else picked up this month?
I cant wait to get started on these x
