Artful Lies - Jodi Ellen Malpas

A brand new irresistible and passionate romance from the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author of the This Man series

An irresistible connection, a desire that won't let go...

When aspiring antiques dealer Eleanor Cole is handed the chance of a lifetime to work for the Hunt Corporation, the renowned antiques dealers, she doesn't think twice. Only to discover she'll be working up close and personal with the notorious and insanely irresistible Becker Hunt. He is a man famous for getting what he wants, and Becker wants Eleanor.

But as Becker pulls her deeper into his world, she discovers there's more to him than meets the eye.

And falling for Becker goes from being foolish to dangerous...

Move over Jesse Ward and Christian Grey, it's time to fall in love with Becker: the ultimate alpha hero!

Well, i dont even know where to begin with this. We all know - I am a huge huge fan of Jodi Ellen Malpas, she writes the most beautiful men and no one compares, stuff Christian Grey - her leading men make you weak at the knees. So when at the start of lockdown i got a wonderful email inviting me to review this - i knew Becker would be the perfect man to keep me company.

Eleanor Cole is an aspiring antiques dealer and has spent her life so far working at her dads shop, and whilst he likes treasures he has no desire for the grand treasures the antiques world holds. When he passes on and Eleanor finds her boyfriend cheating on her - she takes her chance and heads to the big city to follow her passion.

By chance/fate or fluke she ends up with the chance of a lifetime when she is offered a job working for the prestigious Hunt corporation. She jumps at the chance and falls head over heels for the treasures and delights the job holds. However - she soon learns she will be working closely with Becker Hunt - known for his playboy ways, and whilst he is notorious he is also a god, beautiful and passionate. He also drives Eleanor up the wall - and not always in the best way.
"'Welcome'. His reply is so soft, and i cast my eyes back to his. I'm immediately hauled into their fiery depths. Passion, promise and pleasure are all pouring from them."
Becker is well, something else - I fell for him within pages and just lost myself to him so Eleanor really did stand no chance. He was just beautiful and had me falling for his every word. I loved her - she was strong, feisty and passionate about her career and whilst she was been seduced by Becker - she never lost sight of the job she loves and that made her really stand out. I just struggle to put into words how much i enjoyed this book. It was hot, sexy and just a down right good read. I enjoy Jodi's work because it always has the right amount of plot to the sizzling. I mean - i would just read all the sizzling by her to fair but its nice to have a story.
"A devilish grin appears, making his boyish good looks more boyish, and his hand comes up to cup my cheek, his head shaking midly. 'Trust me, princess'. He plants a chaste kiss on my lips, then rests his forehead on mine. 'You're not even at a one on the pleasure scale yet.'".
I did however - think this was a one off book, so having to find out now i have to wait - i am slightly horrified because i need more in my life now, like this book has come out today & i can't wait that long to get answers from Becker. This book will draw you in, make you swoon, enjoy the ride and discover treasures. We meet some wonderful people along the way too - i loved Mrs Potts & Mr H. They added some light relief to the book in terms of been rational, sweet and caring characters.

Honestly - i think everyone who loves the romance genre needs to pick this up, i feel like it has some what dwindled after the whole fifty shades thing and only the best are left standing and i can whole heartily say - Jodi is one of them.

I was gifted the paperback but as you can see - i was already the biggest fan of the author so this is my honest review.

‘A lingering idea that I just couldn’t ignore.’ – Jodi Ellen Malpas

Jodi Ellen Malpas wrote her debut series, The This Man Trilogy, in secret, worried about what people might think if they knew what her imagination was capable of. She was shocked herself. But she finally found the courage to unleash her creative streak and self-published THIS MAN - the first book of the This Man Trilogy - in October 2012. She took a chance on a story with a hero who soon became one of modern day fictions most prolific alpha male characters.

Jesse Ward – also affectionately known as The Lord of The Manor, sparked incredible reactions from women across the globe and catapulted Jodi into the world of women’s fiction. With so much love and enthusiasm from her readers, and a thirst for more of her words, Jodi suddenly wasn't afraid of her imagination anymore. She went on to write The One Night Trilogy with the delectable and mysterious Miller Hart, and stole the hearts of her readers once again. She’s now a proud #1 New York Times bestselling author – all six of her published novels having hit the New York Times best sellers list – as well as a Sunday Times bestseller and international best seller. Her work is published in over 20 languages across the world.

Jodi was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, England, where she lives with her two boys and a beagle. She is a self-professed daydreamer, a Converse & mojito addict, and has a terrible weak spot for Alpha Males.

Writing powerful love stories and creating addictive characters has become her passion – a passion she now shares with her devoted readers
