Having
an affair is inconceivable to Dani and yet she’s having one with
Alex. He’s married, he’s an actor and she’s his agent.
Then
Dani meets Sean, a paparazzi photographer with a formidable
reputation. It’s a profession that makes him unpredictable at best.
A dangerous trait when his motivation to expose becomes personal.
Dani
knows she’s made mistakes. She also knows she’s not the first
person who wilfully hurt someone they love and is simply unable to
explain why.
Review
This is a debut novel by the author and i really am looking forward to what else she produces. I can't tell you why is a drama filled frenzy of a read with a relate-able main character who is flawed but likeable.
Dani knows only too well how much damage having an affair can cause, yet here she is - partaking in one, but she is also the first to admit she has made mistakes.
When she meet Sean and things seem to be going oh so well, she is still having doubts - and feels her connection could lie with Alex, that it is unexplainable. Dani is surrounded by a group of people who only want the best for her - but can she understand her actions and deal with them?
I can't tell you why focuses mainly on our main character Dani, she is strong willed, independent and a force to be reckoned with. I found this read to be gripping, there was plenty of celebrity style stories, so if that is something you are into it this ticks all the boxes. There were some parts that didnt work for me, just occasionally when it would switch person to observe a point of view then switch back - i wasnt keen but thats just down to personal reader preference and nothing more.
I enjoyed this as a nice lazy day read and liked spending time in the glamours world of publicity, the pace of the narrative was good and like i said, i am looking forward to more from this author.
