A Perfect Cornish Escape - Phillipa Ashley || Blog Tour

Summer in Cornwall is the perfect time for a fresh start…

Seven years ago, Marina Hudson’s husband was lost at sea. She vowed to love him forever – but when kind-hearted Lachlan arrives in Porthmellow, should she deny herself another chance at happiness?

Tiff Trescott was living life to the full as a journalist in London – until her boyfriend’s betrayal brought it all crashing down. Fleeing to her cousin Marina’s cottage, Tiff feels like a fish out of water. And when brooding local Dirk wins a day with her in a charity auction, she’s thrown headfirst into Cornish life.

This summer promises new beginnings for both Tiff and Marina. But are they too good to be true?

Escape to Cornwall with this emotional, uplifting read from the bestselling author of A Perfect Cornish Summer and A Perfect Cornish Christmas. Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan and Trisha Ashley.

This is my second visit to Porthmellow and i was so glad to be back. This time we meet Tiff & Marina. Marina lost her husband at sea seven years previous. She has battled to find herself a happy future and has struggled with the grief of the tragedy for such a long time.

Tiff is Marinas cousin, she worked as a full time journalist in London - however, when it comes to light that her boyfriend is not as he seems and has in fact set her up, her world comes crashing down so she decides to flee to the coast to lick her wounds for a while whilst she recovers.

Marina soon meets the kind and lovely Lachlan, who is new to the area but also licking his wounds, can she open up to him and can he open up to her? As the anniversary of her husbands disappearance draws closer, how will it impact Marina?
Tiff meets the brooding local Dirk, he is a closed book but something about him is familiar to Tiff and she wants to know more, when he bids on her at a local option - the relationship between them soon change.

I really enjoyed this book, i loved revisiting Porthmellow and spotting some familiar faces in amongst the new cast that we are starting to spend time with. We discover alot about the wave watchers and the lifeboat crew, a key part of the community of Porthmellow with some important messages.

I really loved Marina and Tiff - two slightly different personalities. Marina is life and soul of the community, she is kind and likes to help others, Tiff is slightly stronger of the two at first glance, but she soon becomes a vital part of the community. When i was first meeting the pair, i could see such difference between them but as i spent more time with them, i realised actually - they were quite similar. I loved the community feel, and sense of belonging between all the characters.

It was a picturesque coastal read with some fantastic views. It was a place you want to visit because you know you would be welcomed with open arms and invited into the community. Its a joy of a read and whilst i figured out some of what would happen early on, it didnt take away from the reading experience at all. I can't wait to return alread.

I was gifted an e-arc for the review for this tour, but this does not impact my review and thoughts.
