Jemima Dewberry wears her heart on her sleeve. Her weakness for bad boys, coupled with her track record for making bad decisions has led to endless heartbreak. The only trouble is, she can’t seem to kick the habit.
On top of that, her “dream” job at Yorkshire Portions magazine hasn’t turned out to be what she’d hoped, and she seems to have developed the knack of annoying her boss without even trying. It doesn’t help that the new girl seems to have taken an instant dislike to her. All that’s keeping her there are her best friends Anna-Lisa and Aidey, who have picked up the pieces of her shattered heart more times than they care to remember.
When Jemima’s latest boyfriend turns out to be no better than the rest, the hurt and humiliation is almost unbearable. She declares she’s finally through with love, and swears off men for life. But when charismatic Caspar De Verre walks into the office with his dangerous good looks and mesmerising smile, she’s utterly captivated, and her promises to Anna-Lisa and Aidey not to let her heart rule her head are soon forgotten.
But is Caspar all he seems? Anna-Lisa and Aidey have their doubts. And Herbert, the happy-go-lucky black Labrador Jemima’s looking after, doesn’t seem to like him either.
As Jemima falls for Caspar’s charms she finds herself being forced to confront the struggle between her head and her heart. But which one will prove the most powerful?
And will Jemima get the happy-ever-after she so desperately craves?

I am a big fan of Elizas books and there is just something about them that are so enjoyable. If i was to write a book, i would want it to be one like this.
Tell that to my heart is the first book in the Heartshaped series, so its a fresh bunch of characters and new places to visit with them. Also, can we just appreciate this cover - how stunning it is!
Jemima (Mim) has a weakness for bad boys, and wears her heart on her sleeve. She knows she needs to stop, her friends try and help her but she just seems to fall deep and hard. She has her dream job, and a bunch of good friends so really, she is set but she is missing love.
When Caspar arrives at the magazine after been headhunted by the bosses, Mim is flattered when he starts paying her special attention, and offering her lifts to and from work. Yet, is he all he seems? On top of that, the atmospher at work is changing and things seem to be snowballing.
Can she prove to herself that actually, she is stronger than she thinks and maybe she should listen to her gut? This book contains so much within such a short space but none of it ever feels rushed.
I really enjoyed this read. I loved the characters, each carefully crafted with deep personalities. Mim was kind and sweet with a need for dolly mixtures. Anna-Lisa is bold, fiery and Mims biggest supporter and Aidey is the gentle and caring best friend who just wants what is best for the gang.
Eliza has not only created these wonderful characters but shes created lovey destinations, i mean i wanted to visit the pub for a big old roast after a chilly walk. I wanted a chai latte, i was dreaming of hot chocolate and the thought of warm milk when i can't sleep.
It felt like a real sensory experience to read this, i felt for Mim - i just wanted her to get her happy ending, she deserved it. She works hard, looks out for others and i just feel like life isn't been to kind to her and i feel like she needs a break. I just think Eliza has done a wonderful job and created a wonderful sense of community.
I was gifted an e-arc for the review but it didnt impact my thoughts, you can get a copy below.
